Okay Talking Watch

It's not the greatest but not the worst watch - The cons of the watch are that it's not loud enough if you have a hearing impairment disability and does not provide you the year you are in.

Decent watch

Although the description says it's good for the visually impaired, my reasoning for getting this was to help my seeing little kids learn to tell time. The watch is decent, but as others have noted, it definitely presents problems for the visually impaired. I think if this watch was targeted towards kids, I would've given it 5 stars, but since it's aimed towards the visually impaired demographic, I'd have to knock it down a few pegs based on the problems that demographic will encounter upon unboxing this watch.

Great Watch for an Adult with Small Wrist Too

Hearkent Talking Watch for Visually Impaired Girls and Boys American Accent Announces Time Week Date Alarm Large Numbers RedI really like this watch. I am an adult female and I have small wrists and this fits me perfectly. It is comfortable and the face is the perfect usable size and is not huge like all the other watches these days. The numbers are large and easy to read. The voice prompt is loud enough to hear over the TV or during a conversation but obviously it is not suppose to be so loud that it annoys everyone around you. This watch is great for someone like me who loses track of the time and relies on my cell phone to know the time. It also is a nice looking watch and would make a great gift for any friend or family member with small wrists. It is a great price too.

Easy to Use, Clear Announcement

This is a valuable timepiece for people that has difficulty in vision. In addition to functioning as a classic watch, showing the time with digital display, it could announce the time now and the date of today, plus the alarm time. Although the face does not show the month, but it actually has year and month setting so you do not need to worry about resetting it like classic mechanical watches. For the time it could announce hour and minute, AM or PM. For date it will say "Today is Wednesday, May 8". The sound is not too loud, but clearly hearable when placing the watch near the ear. The user instructions for setting is large enough in printing and clear. Only drawback is that it is based on the user is listening to the watch, so that the watch user could do the adjustment. I think it will be better if the instruction is also printed in the manual. Anyway it is not too difficult to figure out, and it could be set with no big problem.Overall: A useful tool to provide timing information for people with visual difficulty. It is easy to use, and the sound quality is good. I would recommend it.

An Okay Watch With Some Issues

The idea of this watch is a good one - that of a talking watch for visually impaired folks. Sadly, the execution of the idea is not as good. The voice is not very loud so if the user also has any hearing issues, this watch will not work for them. The voice itself is a bit tinny and harsh. Several voices to choose from would have been a nice, added touch. Setting the watch is non-intuitive. One needs to see and follow the written directions. So a visually impaired person would have difficulty setting this watch for themselves. Since you also need to be able to read very tiny print to activate the voice telling you the time and date, using it might also be difficult until one trained their muscle memory to find and push the right buttons. The watch itself seems reasonably well made and durable for the price. Given the issues listed here though, I can't give this product more than a three star rating.
